Release Notes: TouchTerm 2.0
Feature:
SSH key-based authentication support. Use the Key Manager to generate RSA/DSA keys (optionally with passphrases), and associate keys to connection profiles. Distribute public keys via automatically generated e-mail.
Feature:
After closing the connection to a server, TouchTerm now allows you to navigate back to the Connections screen to initiate a new connection.
Feature:
Complete Connection Profile management. Create, edit, and delete Connection Profiles, which save the server, port, and username for a given connection; and also, optionally store the password and/or associate an SSH Key for using Key-based authentication. Includes "Quick-Connect" support for more recently used profile and one-time connection without saving a profile.
Feature:
Arrow key support.
Feature:
Setting "Auto-Scroll to Cursor" added, which can be turned off to keep TouchTerm from auto-scrolling the output view whenever the cursor moves (which can be annoying for some applications).
Feature:
"Disable Sleep" setting: when enabled, TouchTerm will keep the device from entering low-power mode whenever there is an active connection.
Feature:
Improved Settings interface.
Feature:
TouchTerm now tracks and validates public keys for every host it connects to. If a host is seen for the first time, and the "Host Key Notification" setting is enabled, then TT will display a notification dialog with the host's public key fingerprint. If this fingerprint ever changes, TT will display a notification and refuse the connection.
Feature:
The public key fingerprint for hosts in the saved Connection Profiles can now be viewed in the Profile Details screen (if that server has been connected to).
Feature:
Updated to OpenSSL-0.9.8h and OpenSSH-5.1p1
Bugfix:
Passwords can now be entered and corrected up to 3 times, as is standard.
Bugfix:
Fixed a minor terminal emulation bug.
Bugfix:
Fixed a bug that could cause display corruption when switching from landscape to portrait view in the Settings screen.
Bugfix:
Fixed a crash caused when attempting to use backquote in Immediate Mode.
Bugfix:
Fixed a bug that occasionally caused the Backspace key to not work properly in Immediate Mode.
Bugfix:
When entering backquotes, the actual character properly displays (instead of the dot).
Bugfix:
Added "Allow Scrollback" Setting -- default is "on" for normal operation. When set to "off", the output view is limited to the standard 80x24 size. This is most useful when using full-screen programs like emacs or vi.
