Section 3.3: Browsing Documents

The "Browse" tab provides access to all of the PDF documents currently available in Aji Reader.

The Document Browser
The Document Browser

From the "root" of the Aji Reader browsing screen, you will see available folder(s) for any computer from which you've downloaded documents, in addition to a folder for "Web Downloads" if you have downloaded any PDF documents with the Web Download feature (see the Fetching from the Web section). For folders, Aji Reader displays the number of PDF documents within the folder and its subfolders.

When files are downloaded, they are stored in a folder corresponding to the name of the Aji Reader Service from which you downloaded them. Inside each folder, the downloads that are saved mirror the folder structure on the host computer.

There are two possible icons for PDF files listed in the "Browse" area: the standard icon, and then another icon with a "No Search" icon overlaid upon it:

A PDF File that is missing Metadata
A PDF File that is missing Metadata

This icon indicates that the corresponding file has not yet been processed by the Aji Reader Service. The document can still be viewed in Aji Reader; however, functions such as Search and PDF Outline will not be available. For more details, see the Metadata section below.

You can delete PDF files from Aji Reader by using the Edit button in the upper-right corner or by simply swiping on the entry for a file or folder.
